The Simulations and Student Learning symposium scheduled for Monday June 26th 2017 is a daylong symposium designed for faculty members, educational developers and graduate students interested in using simulation-based learning in their teaching. The symposium is the showcase event in a SSHRC-funded project initiated by instructors from six Dalhousie faculty members interested in exploring how simulations are utilized across various disciplinary contexts.

The symposium will welcome three distinguished keynote speakers to Halifax to explore how simulations can enhance the learning experience. Each keynote speaker will deliver a presentation followed by an interactive group activity that will actively engage the audience. Participants will be involved in large and small group activities that will explore many facets of simulations with particular emphasis on integrating new technologies, using simulations in early-year pedagogy, and effective assessment. This symposium aims to bridge the divide between disciplines so come prepared for an immersive and multidisciplinary experience.
